Case # 2- Brakes that produce noises- Taxi cars, private cars and trucks that pass thorough with their whistling or squeaking brakes, ---What torture!!!, It is totally out of control. I have been asking this question to myself:---" Why the San Francisco Taxi Cabs are making so much noises when they use the brakes and who are the responsibles for this type of sound abuse violation? Here it is what I found out from my research on the subject.
Researching with a neighborhood Mechanic, I asked this question to him. --- Why do some vehicles have brakes that make loud squeaking noises?
His answer: First, brakes are made of disks and pads. Disks are used mainly for front wheels and pads are used mainly by rear wheels brakes. In the case of Disks, the mechanics need to drill them and polish so they get aligned. Then they will function well and without noises. In the case of pads, he said that in the last decade, brakes pads were made of asbestos, if you can believe that, but that all changed. Now they are made of a combination of materials, mainly ceramics. There are good and bad quality brake pads. Today, there are 4 majors manufactors of brakes pads and they all claim themselves to be the best. But I know that some are cheaper and do not make the grade. These are the ones that have greater probability of making noises.
